Supplementing an Intelligence build with well-chosen mutationsis also possible, of course, and should be highly viable - but I only ever did Artifex for INT, so I can't tell you. One perk of high intelligence is having plenty of skill points to spend - so try to meet at least some attribute requirements for various offensive or evasive skills that will let you survive, outfight or escape sticky situations. Oh, and you absolutely must make liberal use of what items you do have - don't save them for later when now gets you killed. You're not going to lug around multiple guns and a hundred grenades - you'll instead be carrying hundreds of weightless tinkering bits.

Do you guys have any tips on how to do an intelligence-focused build? Maybe extremely high Int just isn't viable, and it's better to keep it around +2 rather than going all out for Tinkering 3?īeing intelligence-focused, as far as I take it, means disassembling everything and assembling it on-demand. My build just doesn't progress at the rate it needs to to keep up with the content appropriate to my level. I usually end up getting to the point where to be allowed to gain exp, I have to go to places that will absolutely rock my ♥♥♥♥. I know that eventually these issues can be overcome with technology, but bridging that gap hasn't been happening for me. It feels like I can barely carry anything, have no hp, and get no money from shops, which means that I can't afford to get anything to tinker with.

I've been focusing on both agility and intelligence so that I can still harm things with guns, but that leaves me extremely anemic in every other stat. The early game feels incredibly weak compared to focusing on something more directly combat focused like agility, strength, or ego. I really like the concept of a Tinker build, but I've been having a hell of a time every time I try it.
